Providing skills and further, jobs for the youth are a predominant feature of the UN Sustainable Developments Goals agenda 2030. Education and training are the key determinants of succeeding in the labor market. However, currently a large proportion of the youth have low levels of achievement in basic literacy itself. This serves as a problem in the path towards developmental upliftment. It is because of this that the UN celebrates the Worth Youth Skills Day in order to spread awareness about the importance of imparting skills and encourages people and firms through CSR to take up Skill Development activities in target areas.
Under the Skill Rajasthan mission, World Youth Skills Day, declared by the UN, was celebrated at Birla Auditorium, Jaipur on July 15, 2017. It was organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry as an initiative of cooperation between industries and the government to create a skilled Rajasthan. Many speakers were invited to share their views and their work on Skill Development. SEED CSR Vice President Mr. Jatin Dhall also took to the stage and discussed the Industrial Skill Development Initiative in Jhalawar, Rajasthan that SEED has taken up on behalf of Caterpillar which has received a lot of acclaim for its successful progress and large number of benefactors who have successfully been trained and placed. We, at SEED, hope to continue this endeavor towards Skill Development for Youth and the nation through our various projects in areas all over India.
